Solid Waste Department will be opening a site on Alabama 101 once a month for residents to drop off rubbish and construction and demolition waste. The site is on county-owned property at 2280 Alabama 101, which is just north of the old stockyard. The site is fenced in and there is a blue and white block building at the site,  The drop off will be open from 7:30-11:30 the \u201cfirst Saturday\u201d of each month. County officials stressed that \u201cNO household garbage\u201d nor any  commercial items, shingles or tires will be accepted at the site. Items accepted at the drop-off site include waste building materials, packaging, and rubble resulting from construction, remodeling, repair, or demolition such masonry materials, sheet rock, insulation (not asbestos), scrap metal, wood products, dirt, soil, ceramics and old furniture. These items will be then transported to the Underwood Landfill for proper disposal. class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>Lauderdale County Solid Waste Department provides residential garbage collection for all of Lauderdale County excluding Florence City Limits and Lexington City Limits.\u00a0 Residential garbage collection is $21.00 per month for 1 day per week collection in carts provided by the county.<\/p>\n<p>Bagged household garbage <strong>only<\/strong> should be placed in garbage containers.\u00a0 The garbage containers should not be overloaded and do not put in hot ash, liquids, hazardous materials, bio-hazards, cardboard, any type of yard waste, batteries or any type of construction material including paint cans containing wet paint.\u00a0\u00a0If there are any questions regarding what items should be placed in a household collection container, please call the Lauderdale County Solid Waste office at (256) 760-5878.\u00a0 <strong>Remember to make sure your household garbage is out by 6:30 am on the day of your collection to insure pickup (placing it out the night before is highly recommended.)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The county operates its own landfill located at 5700 Highway 157 N (Cloverdale Road) North of Florence @ Underwood. This C &amp; D landfill is permitted to accept building type debris, trees and limbs, paper, tires, appliances (that have not had Freon in them) and other similar type waste.\u00a0 We also accept household garbage at our transfer station located inside our landfill.\u00a0 Lauderdale County residents may bring items for disposal by presenting a current utility bill along with ID as proof of residence.\u00a0 Disposal for residents is free-of-charge.<\/p>\n<p>County residential yard debris pickup is available (excluding City of Florence and Town of Lexington) for residents who cannot, for whatever reason, take debris to the landfill located in the Underwood Community.\u00a0 <strong>RESIDENTS MUST CALL 256-760-5878 to be added to the pickup schedule<\/strong>.\u00a0 Yard debris and shrubs (stumps <strong>ARE NOT<\/strong> allowed).\u00a0 Limbs over eight (8) feet should be cut into smaller pieces to allow for pickup.\u00a0 A pile of brush must <strong>NOT<\/strong> exceed four (4) feet in height, ten (10) feet in length and five (5) feet in depth.\u00a0 If the pile exceeds these dimensions, it could be left for disposal by the residential customer.\u00a0 Brush should be placed no more than two (2) feet from the roadway on the right-of-way and it <strong>CANNOT <\/strong>be placed in the ditch.\u00a0 Brush should be placed five (5) feet from obstacles such as mailboxes, parked vehicles, fences and utility poles.\u00a0 <strong>DO NOT<\/strong>\u00a0place brush under utility lines, cables or low-hanging limbs and <strong>DO NOT<\/strong> place brush piles on top of water meters.\u00a0 <strong>NOT<\/strong> following these guidelines could result in <strong>NO SERVICE<\/strong>.\u00a0 Pickup schedule as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday - District 1 - Limestone County to Alabama 101<\/li>\n<li>Tuesday - District 2 - Alabama 101 to U.S. 43 (including Turtle Point Village)<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday - District 3 - U.S. 43 to Alabama 20<\/li>\n<li>Thursday - District 4 - Alabama 20 to the river and TN state line<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Commercial Dumpster service is also available in the county and you may contact the Solid Waste Department at 256-760-5878 for details regarding the options.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-770-3\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-has-style\" ><div class=\"panel-row-style panel-row-style-for-770-3\" ><div id=\"pgc-770-3-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-770-3-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-headline panel-first-child\" data-index=\"9\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-headline so-widget-sow-headline-default-ea0af4cf39ae-770\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><div class=\"sow-headline-container \">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h1 class=\"sow-headline\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\tPopular Links\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h1>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"decoration\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"decoration-inside\"><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-770-3-0-1\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-features panel-last-child\" data-index=\"10\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-features so-widget-sow-features-default-bb9c7fca154d-770\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><ul\n\tclass=\"sow-features-list\n\tsow-features-responsive\">\n\n\t\t\t<li\n\t\t\tclass=\"sow-features-feature sow-icon-container-position-top\"\n\t\t\tstyle=\"display: flex;
