      \n\t\t\t\t\t\tBrush Creek Park, located on County Road 14 near Waterloo, will be open for camping Friday (May 2) at 9 a.m. There are some areas that have been roped off to keep the public out of until officials deem the area ready for use. Also, The Pines Disc Golf course should be playable but the The Wilderness course is still closed for now.       \n\t\t\t\t\t\tWelcome! The Lauderdale County Commission will be opening the two County-maintained parks \u2013 Wheeler Campground (on Alabama 101 near Wheeler Dam) and Brush Creek Park (on Lauderdale 14 near Waterloo) on April 4. Due to traffic concerns on Alabama 101, we will continue our practice of taking reservations at the Wheeler Campground during the first weekend the park is open. Anyone wishing to camp at the park during the first weekend, must call the Solid Waste office and make reservations. This is ONLY for the opening weekend. The campsites will be on a \u201cfirst come basis\u201d after the April 4-5 weekend. The Solid Waste office will start accepting reservations for the opening weekend (at Wheeler Campground) on April 1. Anyone interested may call the Solid Waste office (Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.) at 256-760-5878. A map of the campground, showing the campsites, can be found below as well as the Facebook page at Lauderdale County Solid Waste. Individuals can reserve ONLY ONE campsite. NO one can reserve multiple campsites. Payment for the opening weekend must be made to the Wheeler Campground attendants by 4 p.m. on April 4. If payment for the reserved campsite is not made by that time, the site will be opened back up. The Wheeler Campgrounds have water and electric hooks and a dumping station. The cost of $15 per night and $10 per night for senior citizens. Brush Creek Park, near Waterloo, features primitive camping areas and pad camping (for RVs and pull campers) with water hookups only. There is a dumping station at the park. There will be a $10 per night fee for campers using the pad camping area. As in the past, the length of camping stays for Wheeler Campground and Brush Creek Park will be limited to a maximum of 14 days. Campers staying the maximum length of stay much leave the park for 10 days before returning. Stays for tent camping is limited to a maximum of 10 days, then they must leave the park for seven (7) days before returning. \t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h1>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>

      Lauderdale County offers two campground sites:\u00a0 Wheeler Campground and Brush Creek Park\u00a0\u00a0 (Parks are open from late March until mid-October)<\/p>\n

      Wheeler Campground<\/strong> is located on Alabama 101 in Elgin near Wheeler Dam and overlooks Wheeler Lake.\u00a0 The park features 28 camping sites with water and electrical connections, a bathhouse with showers, a fishing pier and free waste disposal station for campers.\u00a0\u00a0The cost of camping is $15 per night (tax included) and $10 per night for senior citizens (age 60 and over).\u00a0\u00a0There is a $5 fee, per occurrence, for use of waste disposal station for non-campers.\u00a0 There is a maximum 30-day stay allowed.<\/p>\n

      Brush Creek Park<\/strong> is a 50-acre park located on Lauderdale County Road 14 near Waterloo along the Tennessee River.\u00a0 The park features a boat launch, picnic pavilions and individual picnic tables.\u00a0 The campground has no fee and offers limited-stay, primitive camping with no electrical hook-ups.\u00a0 There are public restroom facilities with cold showers and a waste disposal station.\u00a0 There is a maximum 14-day stay allowed for campers, and a maximum 10-day stay for tent campers.<\/p>\n
